Who would be the target audience for our media product?

The target audience for our film is ages 15 to 24 and predominantly male. We have chosen this age group as they are documented as being the biggest audience of films from the horror genre. Our protagonist is a young male which allows him to be easily relatable to the audience we are aiming our film towards.

When we surveyed a sample similar to our target audience we asked what traits they would expect to find in a horror film of this genre. They replied with answers such as the dark, supernatural, blood, death, and screaming.

Many people in our sample list their favourite horror film as being woman in black which is a supernatural film. Our film is a teen slasher but we have added elements of supernatural as this seems to be a much enjoyed sub genre in our target audience.
